Heather Ganginis Del Pino, Ph.D.

Dr. Heather Ganginis Del Pino earned her Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland. She has worked as a counselor at the University of Maryland Counseling Center where she primarily treated depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, and grief, as well as identity, relationship and adjustment issues. Her clinical experience has focused on individual and group counseling, emergency counseling and outreach. Additionally, Dr. Ganginis Del Pino has been trained and has counseling experience in career counseling.

 

Dr. Ganginis Del Pino also works as a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) and is a certified Yoga Teacher (RYS 200). She previously had experience as an Associate Professor and Psychology Department Coordinator at Montgomery College. She taught courses on mental illness, culture, personality, and general psychology courses. Dr. Ganginis Del Pino’s research interest are in career development, having published several studies focusing on college students and on employed mothers. Before teaching at Montgomery College, she taught and assisted in UMCP courses on helping skills, introductory psychology, and domestic violence/interpersonal violence interventions.

 

Dr. Ganginis Del Pino has an integrative approach to therapy, focusing on client needs. She is a supportive, empathic, and warm therapist that draws from mindfulness and other cognitive behavioral approaches. She is committed to empowering clients to make their own decisions and provides a safe environment for all her clients.
