Dr. Lauren Williams
Dr. Lauren Williams is a Licensed Psychologist in Maryland and Washington, D.C. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the George Washington University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. She provides individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Williams’s areas of focus include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, relationship issues, life transitions, and women’s issues.
Dr. Williams has a range of clinical experiences including working in public school districts, private practice, and outpatient settings. Dr. Williams is trained in psychodynamic therapy, which guides her approach to treatment and assessment. She focuses on understanding each person as a whole and helps clients identify and understand their specific patterns in coping, decision-making, and interpersonal functioning.
In addition to therapy, Dr. Williams’s area of expertise is in psychological assessment. Her evaluations can identify diagnoses, guide treatment plans, and be provided to schools for educational and behavioral planning. She has experience attending student support team meetings and special education meetings to help schools develop accommodations and interventions to support one’s educational and social-emotional growth.
